Premier meets with elders, Aba Gadas from Borena zone

Addis Ababa, August 11, 2016 (WIC) – Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn yesterday received and held discussion on current issues with elders and Aba Gadas from Borena zone, Oromia Regional State.

In a comment they gave after the discussion, the elders and Aba Gedas criticized the recent violence which led to destruction of public properties.

The people can present their questions to pertinent bodies peacefully, instead of destroying and burning their own properties, they said.

Jatani Tani, one of the elders, told journalists that their discussion with the Premier also focused on delayed projects and other infrastructures that should be built in the zone.

We briefed the Premier on the potable water project which was delayed for 10 years as well as the transportation problem in the zone, he said.

The elders also requested the government to build airport, pastoralist-centered university and road network.

The Premier gave us satisfactory response for our questions as well as pledged to complete the water projects soon, build a university and airports, they said. (FBC)
