The 5th round, 6th regular meeting of the Amhara Regional State is scheduled to kick off on Monday and deliberate on various issues.
Regional Council Speaker, Yirsaw Tamire, said the meeting is to focus on the 6 month performance of the region in development and inducing good governance, performance of the judiciary bodies, and report of the General Auditor.
He reminded that the regional state has been following up performances of different sectors via establishing respective committees and they are expected to present their observations for the council and representatives of the people have been similarly required to meet with the public at the grass root level and address their woes.
Yirsaw noted that the council is expected to evaluate the activities of the committees and representatives during its deliberations.
Various regulations aimed at fostering development, good governance and democracy and new appointments are expected to be ratified by the Council.
