City administration identifies good governance problems

The Addis Ababa city administration says that it has indentified problems related to administrative manacle and good governance at all levels of the city administration.   

Public service and human development bureau head with the city administration, Isaqe Girmay told WMC that the city administration identifies  about  3, 636 types of  good governance problems from municipality  to  wereda administrative levels.  

According to Isaqe, the administration has spotted inefficient service delivery caused by lack of good governance at all administrative levels during this budget year.  

The city administration study findings indicated that 593 types of good governance problems in 13 sectors, 1, 523 types of problems in sub city levels and 1,520 problems observed at wereda level, he reiterated.      

Isaqe noted that the city administration has issued new directives and started  to provide efficient services for the public at all administrative levels based on the established  standard set  by the administration.     

So far, the city able to resolve 522 types of identified good governance problems during the last three months of this budget year, Isaqe underscored.   

Furthermore, about 3,000 leaders, 57,000 executives and 414, 000 residents of Addis Ababa city are involved and participated in the discussion targeted to provide efficient service delivery system under good governance program.   

The Addis Ababa city administration has attained 73 percents of its targeted plan during the last year, is undertaking efforts to implement reforms in order to completely achieve its plan during this budget year.
