Yamamato arrives

US Acting Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Ambassador Donald Yamamoto has arrived in Addis Ababa today.

During his two-day visit in Ethiopia, Ambassador Yamamoto will confer on bilateral and continental issues with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Foreign Minister Workneh Gebeyehu.

His visit is aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, it was learned.

Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Meles said investment, trade, peacekeeping, terrorism, democracy and human rights are among the issues to be discussed.

Donald Yamamoto has previously worked as American ambassador to Ethiopia.
