North and South Korean leaders hold historic summit

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in embrace after signing the Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula during the Inter-Korean Summit.

The development comes after a peace summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his South Korean counterpart, President Moon Jae-in.

When Kim crossed the line between the two countries, it was the first time a North Korean leader had stepped foot in South Korean territory.

Kim and Moon shake hands over the military demarcation line upon meeting for the third-ever inter-Korean summit talks after the 1945 division of the peninsula, and first since 2007.

They also agreed that Moon will travel to Pyongyang later this year.

Plus, the two countries will establish a "joint liaison office," organize reunions of families separated by the six-decade-old conflict, and will arrange another high-level meeting to be held in mid-June. (Read More: CNN)
