Acting Assistant Secretary of State Amb. Donald Yamamato has met with Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, to discuss various issues of bilateral interest.
According to the Ministry’s spokes person, Meles Alem, the two officials have discussed on issues related to trade and investment and options to export goods from Ethiopia to the American market.
The two countries have also looked at options to work together in civil aviation and power generation.
In relation to the sub-region, Yamamato urged IGAD member countries in the horn of Africa to work together with USA to strengthen peace and security in the country.
He also appreciated the role of Ethiopia in inducing peace and security in Somalia.
Yamamato admired PM Dr. Abiy’s call to Eritrea to restart talks and resolve the border issue peacefully
He also stressed on the need that the Eritrean government should take a moderate stand on the issues.
Donald Yamamato arrived here after his visit to Djibouti and Eritrea.
