President Sahlework calls for unity, peace

President Sahlework Zewde has called for unity, peace and stability during her talks with 22 Ethiopian women ambassadors of peace, a group formed to champion peace.

Members of the group are drawn from all the nine regional states and two city administrations of the country. During the past 30 days, they traveled to various parts of the country to advocate peace.

President Sahlework underscored the paramount importance of working together to ensure peace and stability in Ethiopia.

“It is beyond my imagination. What you did was the source of proud to all of us. I want to extend, on behalf of the Ethiopian people, my respect and gratitude to you,” the President said.

According to FBC, Members of the group reflected what they observed during their campaign of peace, according to Office of the President.

“We have realized two important issues in our campaign. The first and most important is the unlimited desire of the population for peace. Secondly and equally important is, the administration has to be checked whether it serves the people as per the law. We have learnt that there are a number of problems regarding to this,” a woman from Oromia regional state noted.
