Annual Pharmaceuticals Supply Chain Review Meeting Opens in Gondar

Organized by the Ethiopian Pharmaceuticals Supply Agency, the 3rd annual pharmaceuticals supply chain review meeting is underway in the city of Gondar, Amhara regional state.

Minister of Health, Dr Amir Aman said on a twitter post that the meeting reviewed the annual performance of the agency, according to FBC.

According to him, the agency managed to deduce the number of tenders from 110 to 45 per year and procurement lead time from one year on average to 6 months.

Thus, the country saved 3.8 billion birr and increased product availability to 90% from 59%, he added.

The Minister underscored the need to further strengthen commitment to the availing of drugs at health facilities and incorporating technology to the supply chain system.
