Africa CDC Headquarters Constructed in Ethiopia Nears Inauguration

Addis Ababa, January 09, 2023 (Walta) – Chinese-aided Construction of Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters in Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa is nearing inauguration soon.

Located in the south of Addis Ababa, Nifas Silk lafto sub city, the new site covers an area of 90,000m2 with a total construction area of nearly 40,000m2.

The headquarters building, in which Ethiopian and Chinese building professionals participated, is expected to become one of the best-equipped centres for disease control in Africa.

The new new Africa CDC headquarters is expected to boost Africa’s capacity to handle disease outbreaks such as Ebola and AIDS that have resulted in the deaths of thousands of people across the continent.
