DPM Demeke Confers with Kazakhstan, Serbia Deputy FM

Addia Ababa, March 03, 2023 (Walta) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, held discussion with Kazakhstan and Serbia Deputy Foreign Ministers.

Attending at Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) contact Group in response to post COVID-19 global recovery issue in Baku, Azerbaijan, Demeke conferred with the Deputy FM of Kazakhstan, Kanat Tumysh, and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, on various issues.

Demeke also underscored Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthen its ties in areas of bilateral cooperation with various countries.

Kanat Tumysh on his behalf, stated that his country is interested in working with Ethiopia on tourism and investment opportunities as well as cultural exchanges.

In addition, during their discussion with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, and Demeke, exchanged views on issues that could enhance the strong historical ties between the two countries.

Kazakhstan and Serbia are members of the Non Alignment Movement which they cooperate with Ethiopia in international forums and multilateral diplomacy.
