Addis Ababa, March 02, 2023 (Walta) – Ethiopians across the country are celebrating the 127th anniversary of the Victory of Adwa colorfully.
127 years ago, in March 1896, Ethiopians from all corners of the country fought against the colonial army of Italy at the Battle of Adwa.
Adwa Victory, the outcome of the battle is being celebrated today.
The victory ensured Ethiopia’s independence, making it the only African country, in high time of colonialism, never to be colonized.
Adwa turned Ethiopia into a symbol of freedom for black people globally.
Patriots, religious leaders, high level government officials, and members of the diplomatic community attended the commemoration of the Victory of Adwa.
