Ethiopian Airlines Resumes Direct Flight to Karachi

Addis Ababa, May 9, 2023 (Walta) – The four times African best Airlines award winner, Ethiopian Airlines launched direct flights to Karachi, Pakistan.

The inaugural flight that departed today from Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa received a warm welcome from Pakistani Government officials upon arrival at Karachi International Airport.

On the flight, the State Minister of Ethiopian Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arega, a high-level Government officials, and representatives from various sectors boarded for Karachi.

The new flight route to the most populous city, Karachi, is the 37th destination of Ethiopian Airlines in Asia and connects Addis Ababa and Karachi four times a week, the airlines announced.

The new flight resumed after nearly two decades of interruption and is expected to connect Ethiopia to Southeast Asia.

Ethiopia and Pakistan have recently been working to strengthen their bilateral relations to boost trade and investment ties.

The airline is also scheduled to launch additional flight destinations to Copenhagen, Atlanata, and Abijan.

Ethiopian is currently flying to 145 domestic and international destinations on five continents.
