Ethiopian Community in Colorado to Hold Discussion with Republican Party

Addis Ababa, November 19, 2021(Walta) – The Ethiopian community in Colorado, USA set to hold an online discussion with the Republican Party today.

In an exclusive interview with Walta, Chairman of the Ethiopian Public Diplomacy Network in the U.S., Mamay Worku, said that they had been asking for talks with the party in recent months.

She noted that the request for discussion has been made following the lack of action on current affairs in Ethiopia by the Republican Party, which could have an impact on the country.

Mammy further said that the main purpose of the talks is to explain to the party what has been going on since the terrorist TPLF attacked the Northern command on November 3rd, 2020.

“Following this, we call on the party to participate in ending the campaign against Ethiopia, from the United States in particular,” she said.

Ninety-nine percent of Ethiopians in the United States had voted for Democrats and now we are saddened and disappointed by the Biden’s administration pressure on Ethiopia,” she added.

“Most Ethio-Americans support the Democratic Party for a long time; But from now on, we will probably vote in favor of our interests,” she underscored.

Ethiopians around the world are said to be stronger than ever and are condemning, exposing and opposing the campaign against Ethiopia.

She further said that efforts are being made to encourage Africans living abroad to join the struggle and a positive response is being received.
