Ethiopian Delegation Arrives in Zambia for AU Summit

Addis Ababa, July 14, 2022 (Walta) – A high-level delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia has arrived in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, to attend the African Union Executive Council Meeting according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, includes former Prime Minister Haile Mariam Desalegn and other senior government officials.

“Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen has arrived in Lusaka, Zambia to participate in the 41st Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council,” the foreign ministry said in a statement it issued yesterday evening.

The two-day meeting will commence today. It is expected to discuss various issues and challenges facing the continent.

“The ministers will also hold a High-Level Reflection and Policy Orientation on evaluation of the First Ten Year Implementation Plan and elaboration of the Second Ten Year Implementation Plan of the African Union’s Agenda 2063 development framework,” the statement added.
