Addis Ababa, May 23, 2023 (Walta) On the sideline of the 2023 Annual Board of Governors of the African Development Bank Group Meeting, the Ministry of Finance of Ethiopia, Ahmed Shide, and German Director General of Africa for Economic Cooperation and Development, Birgit Pickel, discussed on various issues.
Ahmed Shide appreciated German Government’s ongoing financial and technical support for Ethiopia’s development endeavors.
He also underscored the importance of German support in the implementation of the reconstruction and recovery plan Ethiopia carrying out in conflict-affected areas of the country, Ministry of Finance announced.
The Director General, on her part, stated that the German Government is committed to continue to support Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts and pledged to engage with other partners and advocate for its interests on various platforms such as in multilateral Institutions like the African Development Bank, IMF, and the World Bank to produce maximum support.
The minister expressed his gratitude for Germany’s assistance in Africa’s integration agenda and he invited Germany to become a member of the Horn of Africa Initiative partner.
