Addis Ababa, December 8, 2023 (Addis Walta) The Global Black History, Heritage and Education Center is inaugurated in Addis Ababa, at the African Union Hall.
At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonen, said that having the headquarters in Ethiopia is a recognition of Ethiopia’s contribution to the liberation of black people, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by senior government officials, officials of the African Union Commission, the founders of the center, members of the diplomatic community, representatives of civil societies, and guests.
