Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Makes Historic Speech at Ground-breaking Ceremony
Addis Ababa, February 29, 2024 (Addis Walta) Thanks to the historic choice and crucial decision of the great Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) which is orienting and subordinating all the state affairs to realizing the people’s interests and desire, the gigantic regional-industry revolution started to dynamically push forward with the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, which was adopted and clarified as a revolutionary line of the Party and the state.
The construction of modern regional-industry factories on a nationwide scale, which will be conducted in accordance with the decision of the 19th Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, is an unprecedented great creative campaign to drastically improve the material and cultural life of the people of the country and inject great vitality to the overall development of socialism by bringing about epochal changes in the regional economy in ten years from now.
A ground-breaking ceremony of the construction of the regional-Industry factories in Songchon County for implementing the Regional Development 20×10 Policy took place with splendor on February 28.
The venue for the ground-breaking ceremony was full of ardent enthusiasm of soldier-builders to perfectly uphold the Party’s long-cherished desire for the people with the revolutionary creation pattern and the stubborn practical ability peculiar to the People’s Army and of boundless emotion and joy of the working people in Songchon County who are convinced of a new life to be abundant along with the entities of prosperity to be built one year after.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, was present at the ground-breaking ceremony.
When he arrived at the venue of the ground-breaking ceremony, all the participants raised enthusiastic cheers, extending boundless gratitude to the peerlessly prominent leader, people’s benevolent father who puts forward the people’s happy laughter as an absolute standard of assessing the national power and a symbol of the mightiness of Korean-style socialism and writes a new history of great change for accomplishing people’s every ideal and desire in an all-round way.
Present at the ceremony were Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary for Organizational Affairs of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Il Hwan, Kim Jae Ryong and Jon Hyon Chol, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Hi Yong, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Kyong Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, members of the non-permanent central committee for promoting Regional Development 20×10 Policy, officials of ministries and national institutions, and officials and working people of South Phyongan Province and Songchon County.
Attending the ceremony were also Kang Sun Nam, Jong Kyong Thaek and other commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence, commanders of the large combined units of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) and service members involved in the construction.
The national anthem of the DPRK was solemnly played.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un delivered a meaningful speech.
Referring to the historic significance of declaring the great struggle to bring a new era in which the regions change, he extended warm militant greetings to the solider-builders, members of the non-permanent committee for promoting Regional Development 20×10 Policy, officials of ministries, national institutions and other relevant units, and working people of South Phyongan Province and Songchon County on behalf of the Party Central Committee and the DPRK government.
He once again clarified the intention of the Party Central Committee that made the People’s Army take the lead in the 10-year revolution for achieving the Party’s long-cherished desire, and set forth principled issues to be held fast to in carrying out the policy of regional-industry development and tasks.
He expressed belief that the service personnel would confidently create an era of great change for radically developing regions, bearing in mind devoted service for the people as their solemn duty.
Listening to the speech reflecting the respected General Secretary’s noble aspiration of devoted service for the people’s wellbeing to provide the beloved people with the highest level of civilization and the happiest living conditions in the world and his great expectation of the service personnel taking the lead in a gigantic revolution of regional industry, all the participants broke into enthusiastic cheers.
He personally handed over the regimental colors to the 124th regiments of the KPA, which were newly formed in order to carry out the Regional Development 20×10 Policy.
All the soldier-builders, who received the banner of advance associated with the deepest trust of the Party Central Committee which entrusted the gigantic construction projects to the People’s Army, made a firm pledge to fully display the brave mettle of the Korean People’s Army in the sacred struggle to glorify the great era of Kim Jong Un for change, and thus defend its noble name as creator and defender of the people’s happiness.
Kim Jong Un took the first shovel for construction in commemoration of the ground-breaking.
Amid the boundless reverence and excitement of the participants, Kim Jong Un pressed the detonator. Then the explosive sound resounded to herald the start of historic regional-industry revolution.
Kim Jong Un had a significant photo session with the military and political commanding officers of the construction regiments who are cherishing the Party’s crucial decision as the supreme order and absolute truth and filled with the enthusiasm to vigorously lead the responsible and honorable grand construction struggle for implementing it.
The ground-breaking of the construction of the regional-industry factories in Songchon County, which declared before the whole world the start of a grand ten-year revolution for realizing the centuries-old desire of the regional people as soon as possible by accelerating the simultaneous and balanced development of the regional economy, will be brilliantly recorded in the history of the country as a significant occasion which redoubled the bright conviction of future for the ranks of the general march for vigorously opening up a new phase of national prosperity united in patriotism.
