PM Abiy’s Visit to Nairobi Boosts Multifaceted Cooperation Between Ethiopia, Kenya – Ambassador

Addis Ababa, February 29, 2024(Addis Ababa) Ethiopian Ambassador to Kenya, Bacha Debele, in a video message, stated that the recent visit of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Ph.D.) to Nairobi has been instrumental in boosting the longstanding ties between Ethiopia and Kenya through multifaceted areas of cooperation.

“We have unique longstanding diplomatic ties. We have been enjoying a long peaceful and cordial relationship. We share a demarcated border straddling a length of more than 860 km. The visit of Prime Minister Abiy would help bring the close ties to the next level.”

Ambassador Bacha said that Ethiopia and Kenya have recently held their Joint Ministerial Commission Meeting and signed seven MoUs to deepen their cooperation in various areas of engagement.

The visit of the Prime Minister has brought about an opportunity to explore areas of future cooperation and facilitate implementation of the agreed MoUs for the benefit of the two countries, Ambassador Bacha added.
