The Accusation Made by Somalia Government Does Not Reflect the Hospitality Ethiopia has shown – State Minister Selamawit Kassa

Addis Ababa, February 19, 2024(Adds Walta) “It is Ethiopia’s national honor and identity to host a conference based on international diplomacy,” says Selamawit Kassa, the State Minister of Government Communication Services.

In her press briefing regarding the 37th African Union Summit’s successful completion, she addressed accusations made by the Somalia Government.

According to the state minister, Ethiopia warmly welcomed the international leaders of countries, officials of international institutions, diplomats, and guests attending the 37th African Union Summit.

She emphasized that hosting the conference was a national honor and identity for Ethiopia, based on the principles of international diplomacy.

However, the Somalia delegate attempted to enter the conference with weapons to disrupt the agenda of the conference, the state minister said.

The security agencies of the African Union rejected the action and deemed the case unfounded, stating that the accusation did not align with Ethiopia’s hospitality.
