Addis Ababa, April 5, 2022(Walta) – Seleshi Bekele (Ph.D.). Ambassador-Designate of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the USA, held an introductory meeting with diplomats and staff members of the embassy.
Ambassador Seleshi mentioned the importance of executing multifaceted efforts to boost the century-old bilateral diplomatic relation between Ethiopia and the USA.
He also underlined the need to accelerate strategic diaspora engagement, technology transfer, trade, investment, image building, tourism, and related areas.
Diplomats and staff member of the embassy on the other hand expressed their readiness to employ full expertise for the realization of the bilateral ties of the two countries to a new high level.
The outgoing ambassador, Fitsum Arega thanked and express his appreciation to all who helped him along over the past 3 years. The work of a diplomat is never finished, he added.
Ambassador Sileshi was Ethiopia’s Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam Chief Negotiator and Minister of Water, Irrigation and Electricity before taking the current role.
